If you’re locked out or dealing with a broken lock in Alderley Edge, you want a local professional who can get to you quickly — not a call centre dispatching someone from miles away.
At Lockshire Locksmiths, you’ll speak directly to Darren, who provides a fast, straightforward service across Alderley Edge and the surrounding SK9 7 postcode. Whether you’re near the village centre, on Alderley Road, or in one of the residential streets off London Road — Darren knows the area and can typically be with you within 30 minutes.
Alderley Edge has a predominantly high-value residential market — large detached homes, period properties and premium new builds are common across the village and surrounding areas like Mottram St Andrew and Nether Alderley. Darren carries parts for uPVC multipoint mechanisms, high-security cylinders and British Standard approved mortice locks, meaning most jobs are completed on the first visit. Security upgrades are a regular part of the work here too — plenty of homeowners want something stronger than the standard cylinder the builder fitted, and Darren can advise and upgrade on the same visit.

Done by Darren himself — no call centre, no job passed on.
One of the jobs Darren has handled for a homeowner in Alderley Edge.
A key had snapped at a property in Alderley Edge (SK9), leaving the broken half sitting inside the cylinder. Darren extracted it and the lock went straight back into use — no new cylinder, no damage to the door, and the homeowner kept the lock they already had.
The key wasn't the real problem. The mechanism on that door had gone too tight, so the key was fighting it every time it turned, and eventually the metal gave up. That is nearly always what sits behind a snapped key.
If a door needs a lift, a shove or a wiggle before the key will turn, it is worth getting looked at while the key is still in one piece.
Explore our range of expert locksmith services, from emergency lockouts and residential security upgrades to commercial access solutions, all designed to keep you safe and secure.
Locked out? Darren gains access using specialist tools — non-destructive in the vast majority of cases, leaving your door, frame and lock intact.
Lost your keys? The proper fix isn't cutting new ones — it's changing the cylinder so the originals don't work at all. Darren fits a new cylinder with fresh keys included, on the same visit.
Darren carries euro cylinders, mortice locks and British Standard approved options on the van — fitted on the same visit, old keys stop working immediately.
Break-in damage repaired the same day in most cases. Darren carries replacement cylinders, deadlocks, handles and anti-snap hardware on the van — the property won't be left unsecured.
Anti-snap cylinders and Ultion security hardware fitted on the same visit. Ultion locks and handles combined carry a £5,000 manufacturer's guarantee against lock snapping.
Dropped handle, stiff mechanism, door that won't lock? Sometimes it's gearbox failure; sometimes it's door alignment — and catching an alignment issue early can significantly cut the cost of the repair. Darren diagnoses on site and carries the most common parts for a same-visit fix.
Lock failure at business premises — Darren covers shops, offices and commercial units across Cheshire. Same fast response, no call-out fee and a clear quote before work begins.
A full assessment of every door, lock and entry point. Darren identifies weak spots and gives you honest advice on what to prioritise and no obligation to proceed.

Yes — Darren covers the full SK9 7 postcode area including Alderley Edge village centre, Mottram St Andrew, Nether Alderley, Woodford and the surrounding roads. Response times across these areas are typically 20–30 minutes from the call.
Alderley Edge has a wide mix of premium property types — from large detached homes on roads like Woodbrook Road and Ryleys Lane, to period properties in the village centre and modern high-spec new builds in surrounding areas. Darren works on all of them, including high-security multi-point locking systems, premium lock brands and traditional mortice mechanisms on older properties.
Yes — and it's one of the most common requests Darren gets in Alderley Edge. Break-ins and vehicle theft in the area mean a lot of homeowners here are looking to go beyond the standard factory-fitted lock. Darren installs Ultion security products for upgrades. When Ultion locks and handles are combined they come with a £5,000 manufacturer's guarantee against lock snapping — which is the most common method used on euro cylinder doors. He carries the hardware on the van and can confirm which cylinders meet BS3621 insurance requirements while he's on site.
Call Darren directly. After a break-in the priority is getting the property secured the same day. Darren carries replacement cylinders, deadlocks and anti-snap hardware on the van, so in the majority of cases the property can be made secure on the first visit. He'll also take a look at any other vulnerable entry points while he's there and give you an honest read on whether they need attention — no obligation, no upsell. Alderley Edge properties tend to be targeted because of value and location, and Darren understands that securing it properly matters.
Pricing depends on the job — a straightforward lockout will cost less than a full lock replacement or security upgrade. What Lockshire Locksmiths guarantees is no call-out fee, no VAT and no hidden charges. You'll receive a clear upfront quote before any work starts. What you're quoted is what you pay.
Yes — Darren is happy to give honest, straightforward advice on lock types and security options while he's with you. For high-value properties in Alderley Edge this often means recommending anti-snap cylinders, British Standard approved locks or high-security multi-point systems. There's no obligation to act on any recommendations — just practical advice from someone who knows the local area and its property types well.
